Spain – Raptor Migration Strait of Gibraltar
Our tour is designed to provide a relaxing and fulfilling experience. We will base ourselves at a single hotel, where you can enjoy great facilities and peaceful surroundings. Each day will be spent on excursions to various vantage points to observe migration, but we will also visit areas to see local specialities such as Glossy Ibis, Black-crowned Night Heron and Squacco Heron, with perhaps an opportunity to see rarities of the area including Rüppell’s Vulture and Spanish Imperial Eagle! We can, depending on the consensus of the group, offer options for some of our day excursions to visit appropriate sites from where we can best observe seabirds including Cory’s and Mediterranean Shearwater, Audouin’s and Slender-billed Gull. We will certainly make time to search for other sought after species of this area including Northern Bald Ibis, Bonelli’s Eagle, Marbled and White-headed Duck.
Although we run birding tours worldwide, Andalucia is our home area and local base. Our local knowledge, both for the best birding areas and local weather conditions, will greatly improve your chances to see the widest range of species possible. So many other tour operators and individuals visit this wonderful area and leave here disappointed, especially with missing prime target species, so to avoid being one of those who miss the best opportunities – join us on this Worldwide Birding Tours Migration Spectacular!
